Georgia Tech Announces New Title IX Coordinator

Following a countrywide research, Christina “Chris” Griffin was chosen as the new Title IX coordinator at the Ga Institute of Engineering. Griffin began her new position on June 1, reporting to J. Burns Newsome, govt director of Institute Variety, Equity, and Inclusion’s Fairness and Compliance Packages.

“Chris provides a wealth of working experience in Title IX matters, which will be of excellent guidance across the Institute’s compliance obligations,” Newsome said. “We are particularly pleased to have her on board.”

As Title IX coordinator, Griffin is the specified Institute official with major accountability for coordinating compliance with Title IX. This includes offering leadership for Title IX activities session, schooling, and teaching and aiding to be certain the Institute responds appropriately, effectively, and equitably to Title IX challenges. A main region of her accountability will be the prevention of sexual harassment and discrimination.

Griffin is also dependable for overseeing investigations and resolutions of Title IX statements. She serves as an independent source for parties to the Title IX investigative system.

Griffin retains a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia. She is a educated mediator registered with the Georgia Place of work of Dispute Resolution and is qualified to mediate situations involving domestic violence.
